FAMILY CHAETOPHORACEAE Harvey
Phylum Chlorophyta – Order Chaetophorales
Thallus heterotrichous but often with the erect system strongly reduced, with or without hairs. Cells with grass-green pigments; reproductive zooids formed in normal vegetative cells.
Taxonomic notes: A family of numerous genera, mostly small epiphytes or shell-boring algae. Only Entocladia is as yet recorded from southern Australia.
