Description:
Slender annual, to 45 cm high; leaf blades setaceous.
Panicle sheathed at the base by the uppermost leaves, 6-20 cm long; spikelets 3-7-flowered; first glume c. 0.5 mm long, the second 2-3 mm long; lemmas c. 6 mm long, with long cilia on the margins and an awn 8-10 mm long.
