Description:
Annual herb, sometimes persisting as an undershrub, 8-30 cm high; stems erect, branched; vestiture hirsute to scabrid, glandular hairs usually present; leaves flat to subconduplicate, narrowly oblanceolate, 0.8-3.5 cm long, 2-8 mm wide, attenuate at the base, entire or with 1-3 small teeth near the apex; apices obtuse.
Involucres 5-6 mm long; bracts oblong, acute or obtuse, ciliate at the apex; ray florets 2-seriate, lilac to mauve.
Achene terete, narrowly obconic to fusiform, 4-5 mm long; marginal ridges absent; faces without ribs, smooth or striate, pubescent with nonglandular hairs; pappus bristles 2- or 3-seriate, plumose, 4-5 mm long.
