Description:
Annual herb 6-20 cm high; leaves forming a rosette, oblanceolate to spathulate, attenuate into a short petiole, acute to obtuse, 1.5-5 cm long, 3-12 mm wide, serrate to lyrate-pinnatifid, sparsely villous to glabrescent.
Peduncles ascending or decumbent, terete, 3-20 cm long, glabrous or subglabrous; bracteoles free, lanceolate to ovate, the lower ones deeply incised and leaf-like, to 15 mm long, the upper ones smaller; sepals almost free, elliptic, 4-5 mm long, subequal, acute, sparsely hairy, ciliate; corolla 5-7 mm long, pink or mauve to white, more or less pubescent outside, glabrous inside, with a slight obtuse pouch; tube c. 3 mm long; posterior lobes elliptic, c. 2 mm long; anterior lobes connate for c. 1 mm, c. 2 mm long, lanceolate, broadly winged; style c. 1 mm long, glabrous; indusium suborbicular, to 1 mm long, with an almost straight orifice.
Capsule globular, inflated, 2-valved, c. 7 mm diam., pubescent; seeds orbicular, c. 3.5 mm diam., the body comma-shaped, broadly winged.
