Description:
Stems to 2 or rarely 3 m high; leaves usually 4-10 mm broad; spikes usually separated by 2-5 cm; the female spike usually 5-15 mm diam., 11-24 cm long.

Distribution:  S.Aust.: NW, LE, GT, FR, EA, EP, NL, MU, SL, KI, SE.   All States.   Widespread including North Africa and South-East Asia.

Conservation status: native

Flowering time: probably in all months.
