Derivation: After Francois Noël Sellier, 1737-1800, French engraver who prepared illustrations for Cavanilles' publications.

Description:
Small glabrous perennial herbs; stems creeping, forming stolons, rooting at the nodes; leaves cauline, petiolate, entire, flat, succulent.

Flowers solitary on axillary peduncles, with a pair of bracteoles, erect, strongly zygomorphic, epigynous; sepals 5, free above the hypanthium; corolla split to the base on the posterior side, one-sided; lobes wingless, subequal, digitately spreading; auricles absent; stamens epigynous; anthers free; style simple, bent and slightly pubescent near the apex, shorter than the corolla; indusium broad, 2-lipped, minutely ciliate; stigma emarginate; ovary inferior, almost completely 2-celled with a dissepiment bearing many ovules in 2 rows on each side.

Fruit fleshy, indehiscent; seeds endospermic, somewhat flattened, narrowly winged; caruncle absent.

Distribution:  2 species in Australia, New Zealand and Chile.
