Common name: Tiny selaginella.
Description:
Sporophyte annual; stems simple or forked once or twice, erect, 2-8 cm long; leaves lanceolate, c. 1.5 mm long; sporophylls occupying most of the stem, not aggregated into a defined strobilus; microsporangia and megasporangia mixed.

Grows in moist shaded situations near creeks and swamps. Often overlooked because of its size.
