Description:
Prickly shrub, pleasantly aromatic; petioles, stipule margins, lower leaf surface and pedicels with abundant stout glandular hairs; leaves of 5-7 leaflets; leaflets ovate to broad-elliptic, serrate, base and apex rounded.

Flowers solitary or in few-flowered corymbs; pedicel densely glandular-pubescent; calyx longer than the receptacle tube, scarcely reflexed after flowering; petals bright-pink; stamens and styles numerous; hip glabrous or with glandular hairs and bristles, red to almost black; sepals often persistent, erect.
