Pultenaea daphnoides

Citation: Wendl., Bot. Beob. 49 (1798).

Synonymy: P. obcordata Andrews, Bot. Rep. 9:fig. 574 (1809); P. daphnoides Wendl. var. obcordata (Andrews)Benth., Fl. Aust. 2:112 (1864).

Common name: Large-leaved bush-pea.

Description:
Shrub 1-3 m high, the stems pubescent and usually ridged or angular; leaves broadly cuneate to oblanceolate, obtuse or truncate, 1-3 cm long, midrib produced beyond the apex into a conspicuous glabrous mucro, the upper surface concave, glabrous, darker, the margins flat or slightly recurved, the lower surface pale and with a prominent mid-vein, occasionally with appressed white hairs; stipules lanceolate, 1-2 mm long, usually very dark-brown.

Flowers sessile, 7-15 mm long, in terminal heads 5-11-flowered, at first surrounded by several brown imbricate deciduous bracts; upper bracts ovate, often trilobed at the apex, pubescent at least in the lower central region, reddish to dark-brown, often to 5 mm long, the outer bracts shorter; calyx 4-6 mm long, densely silky-villous; teeth shorter than the tube, acuminate, upper 2 broader than the lower; bracteoles linear, 2-4 mm long, scarious, pubescent, inserted towards the summit of the calyx tube; their tips never attaining the height of the calyx teeth; standard and wings bright-yellow; keel scarlet; ovary and lower style silky-pubescent.

Pod obliquely ovate, 5-7 mm long, usually flattened, pubescent, slightly exceeding the calyx.
