Common name: Silvery (or desert) phebalium.
Description:
Shrub to 2 m; branchlets glandular-verrucose, scaly with silvery to ferrugineous scales; leaves with a petiole 1-2 mm; lamina thick, narrowly oblong, 6-12 x 1.5-2 mm, emarginate, margin glandular, upper surface glabrous, lower surface silvery-scaly.
Inflorescence terminal, sessile, a 1-8-flowered umbel-like cluster; pedicels 4-7 mm long; calyx hemispherical, 1-1.5 mm long, shallowly lobed, glandular, scaly; petals broadly elliptical, c. 3 x 2 mm, yellow, scaly outside; anthers yellow; gynoecium 5-carpellate; carpels c. 1.3 mm long, slightly spreading at the apex; style as long as the stamens, scaly towards the base; stigma minute.
Cocci c. 3 mm high, apex rounded, scaly; seeds 2-2.5 mm long, finely corrugate, black.
