Description:
Perennial; stems leafless, slender, 10-40 cm high; leaves radical, not hollow, concave above, tapering to fine points, c. 2 mm broad; leaf-base without lobes.
Inflorescence a terminal cyme of up to 8 globular flower-heads; leafy bract usually longer than the inflorescence; flowers brown; perianth 2.5-3 mm long.
Capsule shorter than or equal to the perianth, obtuse, mucronate; stamens 6.

Grows mainly in marshy places, often near the sea.
S.Aust.: FR, NL, MU, SL, KI, SE. All States except Qld and the N.T. New Zealand.
