Citation: F. Muell., Fragm. Phyt. Aust. 10:81 (1876) subsp. floribundus. Comm_name: Shrub violet.

Description:
Perennial shrub to 1.5 m tall; leaves alternate, linear, lanceolate or oblong, 5-35 mm long, 0.5-7 mm broad, acute or obtuse, more or less recurved; stipules linear, 0.5-1.5 mm long, glabrous or with a few trichomes near the base.

Inflorescence axillary, dichasial or racemose, occasionally flowers solitary; sepals narrowly lanceolate, 0.75-4 mm long, pale-blue to white or dark-blue to green; inner 2 petaloid, c. 1 mm longer than the outer 3; anterior petal pale-blue to white, 4-11 mm long; lateral petals of dissimilar pairs, outer pair oblong, 1.5-3 mm long, 1-nerved, inner pair broadly oblong, 2.5-4 mm long, 3- or more-nerved; anthers glabrous or with scattered white hairs, locular appendages present or absent.

Capsule to 8 mm long; seeds 1-4, ovoid-ellipsoid, 2-3 mm long, smooth or reticulate, brown to black.
