Hibbertia acicularis

Common name: Prickly guinea-flower. (?Ill. Cunningham et al. (1982) Plants of western New South Wales, p. 495.)
Description:
Erect or sprawling glabrous shrub to 30 cm high; leaves linear to linear-lanceolate, tapering to a pungent persistent mucro, with recurved margins such that only the broad midrib shows, scattered along the branches, 2-8 x up to 1 mm, glabrous.
Carpels 2, glabrous, usually with 4 ovules in each.

Taxonomic notes:
This material agrees in all respects with material from the other States, except that the sepals lack the characteristic hooked simple hairs and the carpels are glabrous. It is thought unlikely that these characters suffice to justify describing a new species for the KI specimens.
