Description:
Shrub to 1 m high; stems erect, terete to slightly angular, densely pubescent at first, becoming glabrescent and woody; leaves cauline, on distinct petioles 1.5-5 cm long often with small pinnate appendages, ovate to broad-ovate, acute, 2-5 cm long, 2-3 cm wide, dentate, densely pubescent with simple and glandular hairs.
Flowers in terminal leafy racemes sometimes thyrsoid at the base; bracts leaf-like, smaller, lanceolate; bracteoles linear, c. 1.5 mm long, pubescent; peduncle 4-6 mm long, pubescent, articulate 1-2 mm below the ovary; sepals lanceolate, 5-6 mm long, pubescent, adnate to the ovary almost to its apex; corolla 14-17 mm long, cream to yellow, pubescent outside, bearded inside, with a prominent pocket shorter than the ovary; wings subequal, dentate; auricles indistinct; anthers c. 3 mm long; style 8-9 mm long, geniculate, pubescent; indusium triangular, c. 2.5 mm long, c. 3.5 mm wide, almost glabrous, with a straight orifice beset with short white bristles; ovary pubescent; dissepiment to three-quarters the length of the ovary.
Capsule ovoid, c. 10 mm long, c. 6 mm wide; valves becoming 2-fid; seeds flat, broad-elliptic, c. 3 mm long, colliculate, brown, with a thickened rim and a vestigial wing.

Goodenia saccata Carolin, sp.nov. Frutex erectus usque 1 m altus pilis glandulosis simplicibusque. Folia ovata vel late ovata 2-5 cm longa 2-3 cm lata dentata profunde ad basim obtusa: petiolus usque 50 cm longus appendiculis herbaceis instructus. Flores pedunculis obsoletis pedicellisque articulatis in racemis foliosis dispositi. Corolla flava pilis glandulosis simplicibusque extus pills simplicibus albidis grossis seriebusque ennatiarum intus: lobi superiores auriculati indistincte: sacca anterior conspicua. Dissepimentum 1ongitudine 1/2 ad 3/4 loculi partes aequans 20-24 ovulis instructum, lndusium deltoideum. Fructum ovoideum circa 10 mm longum valvis biffdis duabus dehiscens. Semina late elliptica 3 mm longa 2.5 mm lata ala fete obsoleta. Holotype: Gammon Ranges, H. Eichler 12676, 17.ix.1956 (AD 95710018); Isotypes: MEL 23070, K, L, P, TI, B, BM, US, UC, NSW. The specific epithet refers to the prominent anterior pocket of the corolla.
