Common name: Shiny pansy, smooth goodenia.

Description:
Annual or perennial herb to 25 cm high, without rhizomes or stolons; basal leaves forming an ascending rosette, narrowly obovate to oblong, tapering into a short petiole, acute to obtuse, 3-9 cm long, 7-11 mm wide, sinuate-dentate to shallowly lobed, glabrescent; stems prostrate to ascending, usually decumbent, terete, subglabrous or glabrous, rarely branched.

Flowers solitary in axils, forming loose leafy racemes; peduncles 1.5-3.5 cm long, cobwebby to glabrescent, not articulated; bracteoles linear, c. 3 mm long, cobwebby; sepals linear-lanceolate, 3-4 mm long, pubescent, adnate to the ovary almost to its apex; corolla 10-18 mm long, yellow, pubescent outside, usually bearded near the base inside, with a vestigial pocket: wings subequal; auricles prominent; anthers 1-1.5 mm long; style 5-6 mm long, almost straight, glabrous; indusium depressed-obovate, c. 1.2 mm long, c. 2.5 mm wide, glabrous or subglabrous, with a very curved orifice beset with microscopic bristles; ovary subglabrous to cobwebby, attenuate at the base; dissepiment almost as long as the ovary.

Capsule globular to ovoid, 7-10 mm long, c. 6 mm wide; valves entire; seeds flat, oblong to elliptic, c. 3 mm long, aculeate, brown to yellow-brown, with a thickened rim but lacking a wing.
