Description:
Undershrub or shrub to 70 cm high; stems ridged, glabrescent, woody below; leaves cauline, elliptic to ovate, sessile or tapering into a petiole-like base, acute, 3-7 cm long, 1.5-4 cm wide, serrate to crenulate, glabrescent, glaucous.

Flowers in terminal racemes; bracts leaf-like, lanceolate, 8-15 mm long, entire; peduncle 3-6 mm long, glaucous with a few glandular hairs; bracteoles lanceolate, c. 3 mm long; sepals lanceolate, 5-6 mm long, with a few glandular hairs, adnate to the ovary almost to its apex; corolla 15-20 mm long, white, pubescent outside, densely bearded inside, with a pocket about half as long as the ovary; wings more or less equal; auricles small; anthers c. 3.5 mm long; style c. 9 mm long, geniculate, glandular-pubescent, often villous above; indusium broadly ovate, c. 3 mm long, c. 4 mm wide, white-pilose, with an almost straight orifice beset with white bristles; ovary glandular-pubescent; dissepiment three-quarters the length of the ovary.

Capsule ovoid, c. 10 mm long, glandular-pubescent; valves splitting to the sepal attachment; seeds flat, elliptic, c. 3 mm long, tuberculate, pale-brown, with a slightly thickened rim and a vestigial wing.
