Epilobium billardieranum xintermedium

Citation: Raven & Engelhorn, New Zealand J. Bot. 9:348 (1971).

Synonymy: E. glabellum sensu J. Black, Fl. S. Aust. 639 (1952), partly, non Forster f. (1786).

Common name: Variable willowherb.

Description:
Inflorescence densely covered with appressed hairs and with or without glandular as well as non-glandular erect hairs; leaves lanceolate, 0.4-1.2 cm broad, with margins usually coarsely serrate, with 6-20 teeth on each side.

Distribution:    W.Aust.; N.S.W.; Vic.; Tas.   New Zealand. Moist places at low altitude.

Flowering time: Nov. — Feb.

Biology: Not Applicable

Taxonomic notes: This artificial subspecies is more variable than the other two in the complex. Since it was usually included in a broader outlined E. cinereum the latter taxon got the now less appropriate name 'variable willow-herb'.
