Synonymy: D. cuneata Smith in Rees, Cyclop. 12 (1809).

Common name: Wedge-leaved hop-bush.

Description:
Compact spreading shrub, 1-3 m high; leaves sessile or shortly petiolate, lamina cuneate to angular-obovate or narrow-obovate, truncate or obtuse, usually with a short abrupt point, sometimes irregularly 2-3-toothed at the apex, 1-3 x 0.4-1 cm, margin entire to irregularly sinuolate; petiole c. 1 mm long.
