Description:
Annuals, with erect or geniculate culms, sometimes rooting at the lower nodes, 20-40 cm high; leaf blades linear, acuminate, 4-8 cm long, 2-3 mm broad, glabrous or finely pubescent; ligule truncate or jagged.
Particle of 3-5 digitate or c. 5-8 cm long racemes; spikelets in pairs, 1 on a very short pedicel and the other on a pedicel 4-6 times as long, 3-3.5 mm long, lanceolate, acuminate, light-green; first glume 0; second glume and first (sterile) lemma equal, 5-nerved, pubescent between the nerves and on the margin; fertile floret a little shorter.
