Description:
Undershrub to 70 cm high; stems erect to decumbent, sparsely branched, deeply ribbed, glabrous or glabrescent, papillate; leaves oblong-elliptic, acute, 5-24 mm long, 2-6 mm wide, not crowded, entire to dentate, glabrous or glabrescent but papillate above, tomentose below, with more or less revolute margins.

Peduncles 1-3 in a cluster, tomentose, 11-17 mm long, 5-7-flowered; bract 5-7 mm long, leaf-like; bracteoles linear, 3-4.5 mm long; pedicel 1-2 mm long; sepals to 0.5 mm long, brownish-tomentose; corolla 11-18 mm long, blue, rarely lilac to white, tomentose outside with short appressed black and longer brownish hairs; posterior lobes narrowly elliptic, 5-7 mm long, with purple-red auricles 1-1.5 mm wide; anterior lobes elliptic-lanceolate, 4-5 mm long; style 3.5-4.7 mm long, tapered towards the apex; indusium c. 0.5 mm long, c. 0.6 mm wide, red-brown.

Fruit c. 2 mm long.
