Taxonomic notes:
Whilst this is, apparently, a distinct taxon, morphological and chemical evidence supports a hybrid origin for C. calycina. Parent taxa appear to be C. aemula and C. glabra. The "C. reflexa" of Black, with flowers solitary or in clusters of 2-4, is also related to C. calycina and appears to share a similar origin. At this stage it should be referred to as C. sp. aft. calycina. Although poorly collected at this stage, plants from north-west KI may also belong to this complex.
