Common name: Tall fleabane.
Description:
Annual herb to 2 m high; stem erect, robust, unbranched between the base and the inflorescence, green, hispid; basal leaves petiolate, elliptic to oblanceolate, 4-10 cm long, 5-12 mm wide, appressed-pubescent, shallowly dentate; upper leaves sessile, narrow-elliptic to linear, 3-6 cm long, 2-6 mm wide, appressed-pubescent, entire.
Capitula very numerous in a pyramidal panicle; involucres 4-5 mm long, campanulate; bracts strigose, brown on the inner face when reflexed; apices subglabrous; outer florets without ligules; receptacles 1.5-2 mm diam., deeply pitted.
Achenes elliptic, c. 1 mm long, pale, pubescent; pappus bristles free, straw-coloured, c. 3 m long.
