Synonymy: Arachnorchis dilatata, Caladenia necrophylla Common name: King spider, green-comb, green (or fringed) spider-orchid.
Description:
Plant 10-50 cm high; leaf hairy, oblong to elliptical or lanceolate, up to 6 cm long and c. 2 cm broad.
Flowers 1-3, in various shades of green, white, yellow, maroon and red; perianth-segments 2-8 cm, all spreading except the dorsal sepal, yellowish-green with a red central stripe; sepals subequal; dorsal sepal erect, broad-based with filiform tips, lateral sepals similar but spreading; petals narrower and shorter, never clavate or glandular; labellum somewhat ovate, to 20 mm long, maroon, green and yellow or white, tremulous on a movable claw, 3-lobed, somewhat ovate, recurved near the middle, the lateral lobes more or less erect, their margins toothed or combed, mid-lobe recurved, not toothed; calli maroon, large; column much incurved, 10-15 mm long, widely winged in the upper part, 2 sessile yellow calli at the base.
