Amyema maidenii

Citation: Barlow, Proc. Linn. Soc. N.S.W. 87:57 (1962) subsp. maidenii.

Synonymy: Loranthus maidenii Blakely, Proc. Linn. Soc. N.S.W. 49:87 (1924); Diplatia maidenii (Blakely)Danser, Bull. Jard. Bot. Buitenz. 10:312 (1929).

Common name: Pale-leaved mistletoe.

Description:
Plants (in S.Aust.) densely white-tomentose; epicortical runners absent; leaf lamina oblanceolate to ovate, 20-60 mm long, usually 10-23 mm wide, attenuate to contracted at the base into a petiole 1-10 mm long, rounded at the apex.

Inflorescence peduncle dilated and sometimes angular at the apex, 10-30 mm long; flowers all sessile in 2 opposite triads; central bracts spreading or reflexed, 2-5 mm long; lateral bracts enveloping the calyces, 2-3 mm long; calyx limb entire, c. 1 mm long; corolla mostly 18-24 mm long, green; anthers 1.5-3 mm long, about one-third the length of the free part of the filament.

Fruit ellipsoid, c. 8 mm long.

Distribution:  Exclusively parasitic on Acacia.
