Description:
Sparsely pubescent annual herb, 20-50 cm high; stem stout, solid, ridged, densely hairy at the base with sparse long hairs higher up, branched; leaves pinnate; leaflets of lower leaves ovate, deeply crenate, those of the uppermost leaves linear, entire.
Involucral bracts several, subulate, stiff-ciliate, much shorter than the rays; rays 3-8; bracteoles of involucel several, subulate, stiff-ciliate, about as long as the pedicels; petals of outer flowers unequal, one much larger than the others, deeply 2-lobed (appearing like 2 large petals), radiating.
Fruit 5-8 mm long, with soft hairs; margin thickened and corrugated.
