Description:
Shrub, erect to spreading, 0.3-1.5 x to 2.4 m; leaves broadly elliptic to orbicular, thick, flat-bottomed, 1-2 mm long, sessile, margins entire.

Flowers sessile; hypanthium rugulose to finely granular, ribless, cup-shaped, c. 1.5 mm long; sepals broadly triangular, herbaceous-tipped, c. 0.8 mm long; petals orbicular, white or pink, 1.5-2 mm diam.; stamens 5, opposite the sepals, occasionally alternating with staminodes; gland on the anther connective prominent; ovules 4, in 2 superposed pairs; placentation subbasal; ovary occupying most of the tube.
