Description:
Annual herbs; vestiture non-glandular; stems terete; leaves basal and cauline, petiolate, alternate, pinnatisect.
Capitula sessile among the leaves, small, discoid, heterogamous; involucres cylindrical; bracts herbaceous, imbricate in 2 subequal series; receptacle flat, naked, pitted; outer florets female, 2-or 3-seriate; corolla absent; style branches linear, truncate with papillose apices; achenes flattened, often winged; pappus absent; inner florets tubular, 4-merous, bisexual, sterile; anthers acute at the base with ovate apical appendages; style entire with a capitate papillose apex.
