Common name: Hard meadow-grass.
Description:
Small stiff glabrous annual, 3-12 cm high, stems covered by the broad leaf-sheaths up to the short unilateral spike-like panicle which is 2-4 cm long and surpassed by the flat leaf-blades; spikelets 3-5-flowered, 7-9 mm long; first glume c. 2.5 mm long, 3-nerved, the second c. 4 mm long, 7-nerved; lemmas truncate, c. 6 mm long, 5-nerved.
