Inflorescence ebracteate; sepals erect, slightly dimorphic; petals long-clawed; stamens 6; median nectariferous glands present.
Fruit a siliqua, indehiscent, cylindrical, or constricted between the seeds and articulating at the constriction; beak without seeds; valves ribbed; seeds globular, pitted; cotyledons conduplicate; radicle incumbent.
