Common name: Bracken, austral (or common) bracken.
Description:
Rhizome long-creeping, black, subterranean; fronds large, 0.3-2 m long, 3-4-pinnate in the lower part, stiff and coriaceous, brown to dark-green; circular nectaries at the base of the primary pinnae; sori linear, running along the margins, protected by an outer false and an inner membranous indusium.
