Common name: None

Description:
Bracts as long as or longer than the calyx and with apices not appressed; peduncle erect, usually longer than the leaves, 0.5-1.8 mm diam.

Distribution:  S.Aust.: EP, NL, MU, YP, SL, KI, SE.   All States except the N.T.   Native to Europe and the Mediterranean region and well into Asia. Distrib: Weed of disturbed or waste lands.

Flowering time: throughout the year, but mainly in spring.

Biology: In the case of depauperate plants with only few flowers per spike the bracts are shorter than the calyx but the slender peduncle is longer than .the leaves.
