Common name: Bristle-brush grass.
Description:
Glabrous, with stiff geniculate stems 15-40 cm high; leaf blades at first flat, 2-5 mm broad; ligule of silky hairs.
Panicle narrow, interrupted, 10-25 cm long (including the bristles); the flattened peduncle 7-10 mm long; spikelets ovate-oblong, obtuse, c. 7 mm long; bristles 10-15 mm long, with erect teeth.
