Citation: Trin., Fund. Agrost. 131 (1820).

Synonymy: Rottboellia pannonica Host, Ic. Descr. Gram.Aust. 1:t. 24 (1801); Lepturus pannonicus (Host)Kunth, Rev. Gram. 1:151 (1829).

Description:
Glabrous annual, 10-20 cm high; leaf blades flat, very narrow.

Spike 5-15 cm long, c. 2 mm thick, straight or almost so; glumes 6-7 mm long; first floret sessile, with the back of its lemma pressed against the hollow of the rhachis, the second smaller, on a short extension of the rhachilla.

Distribution:  S.Aust.: NL, YP, SL.   Not recorded in the literature in W.Aust. or Vic..   Native to south-east Europe.

Conservation status: naturalised
