Citation: T.L. Mitchell ex Lindley in T.L. Mitchell, Three Exped. Int. eastern Austral. 2:143 (1838).

Synonymy: Not Applicable

Common name: Magenta storks bill.

Description:
Erect perennial herb to 40 cm high, covered with short glandular hairs and a few long eglandular ones; the roots bearing tubers sometimes arranged in chains; leaves ovate, to 5 cm long, slightly 5-7-lobed; petioles to 7 or rarely 10 cm long.

Flowers in umbels of 2-7; peduncles sometimes arising from the axils of the basal leaves; pedicels to 22 mm long, glandular-puberulent; calyx lobes to 6 mm long; sepal spur 5-9 mm long, prominent on the pedicel; petals deep-pink, very unequal, to 18 mm long, the posterior ones bearing darker markings; stamens to 5 mm long, 7 or 8 fertile.
