Common name: Angled iceplant.
Description:
Prostrate annual or biennial thinly papillose shrub; stems and branches somewhat angular; leaves flat, thick, ovate to spathulate, on short broad petioles, opposite on the stem, alternate on the flowering branches.
Flowers on slender peduncles at the ends of short leafy branches; perianth 10-15 mm long, papillose; perianth lobes unequal, the 3 longer ones thick and obtuse, the other 2 shorter and acute; ovary swollen and 5-angled; petaloid staminodes scarcely longer than the perianth.
Capsule with 5 erect white keeled valves before opening; seeds orbicular, reddish, concentrically granular, c. 1 mm diam.
