Description:
Shrub or small tree 3-5 m high, glabrous except for the tawny-pubescent young shoots; leaves alternate, broadly ovate, 1-1.5 mm long, 0.75-1 mm broad, rounded, on the lower surface slightly keeled, glandular and obscurely 3-nerved, truncate at the base, attached on the underside near the base, sessile and stem-clasping in small hollows of the stem.
Flowers in triads, dyads or monads in leaf axils forming short spikes; bracteoles narrowly ovate-acuminate, scarious, c. l mm long; hypanthium cup- or funnel-shaped, c. 0.75 mm long; sepals broadly triangular, c. 0.5 mm long; stamens in bundles of 6-12, pale-yellow; claw c. 2.5 mm long, free parts of filaments 1-2 mm long.
Fruit scaly, nearly spherical, 2-2.5 mm long, truncate, in short spikes on woody stems.
