Lobularia maritima

Synonymy: Clypeola maritima L., Sp. Pl. 652 (1753); Alyssum maritimum (L.)Lam., Encycl. 1:98 (1783); Koniga maritima (L.)R. Br., Narr. Travels Africa 2:215 (1826); A. minimum L., Sp. Pl. 251 (1753).
Common name: Sweet alyssum, sweet alison.
Description:
Perennial herbs, branched, ascending, to 40 cm tall, hairy with simple or medifixed hairs; leaves linear to linear-lanceolate, 2-4 cm long, almost entire, subsessile.
Flowers small, fragrant; petals 3-4 mm long, white, pink or purple; style c. 0.5 mm long, slender, prominent.
Silicula obovate to orbicular, 2-3.5 mm wide, compressed; valves convex, hairy; seed ovoid, c. 1.5 mm long, narrowly winged.
