Description:
Annual, with slender stems and filiform basal leaves; involucral bracts like the leaves, usually 2, longer than the inflorescence.
Spikelets many-flowered, usually 3 together in a terminal cluster, ovoid, 3-4 mm long; glumes narrow, pointed; style branches 2.
Nut compressed, linear-oblong, about as long as the hypogynous scales.
