Description:
Bulbous herbs; leaves basal, linear.

Flowers nodding, in a 1- or few-flowered umbel at the summit of the leafless scape and subtended by I or 2 large bracts; perianth campanulate, regular, free or very shortly united; corona 0; stamens 6, inserted at the base of the perianth; anthers basifixed; ovary 3-celled, with axile placentas; style filiform, simple.

Distribution:  12 species in Europe and North Africa.
