Description:
Stems simple, erect, 40-60 cm high, from a creeping scaly rhizome; sheathing bracts distant, 10-25 mm long, appressed, with a short filiform blade, those under the inflorescence looser.
Flowers clustered in compound distant pale-brown spikes, forming a narrow interrupted panicle 3-12 cm long; upper floral bracts and glumes acuminate or obtuse; perianth-segments 6, c. 3 mm long, acute; capsule c. 1.5 mm long and broad.
