Description:
Undershrub or shrub 18-65 cm high; stems erect, divaricately branched, finely striate, glabrous, grey-green; leaves crowded, linear, terete, acute, 1-3 cm long, to 1 mm wide, glabrous, grey-green.
Flowers subsessile in the axils of a sparsely leafy terminal spike; sepals subulate, 5-8 mm long; corolla 17-22 mm long, pale-blue to lavender, bearded with white hairs near the base inside; tube 2-3 mm long; posterior lobes narrowly lanceolate-falcate, 6-10 mm long, narrowly winged; anterior lobes lanceolate, 10-15 mm long, with broad subentire wings, connate part of anterior lobes 4-6 mm long; style c. 10 mm long, sparsely villous at the base; ovary linear, 9-18 mm long.
Capsule narrowly cylindrical, 2-5 mm long, dehiscing by longitudinal valves; seeds numerous, in 2 rows, cylindrical, truncate, c. 1.5 mm long.
