Citation: R. Br., Prod. Fl. Nov. Holl. 285 ( 1810).

Derivation: Probably after the Swedish botanist Erik Laxman, 1737-1796.

Synonymy: Not Applicable

Common name: None

Description:
Perennials, with fibrous roots; leaves narrow, with scarious often woolly sheaths.

Flowers in heads surrounded by bracts; perianth of 6 free segments, persistent but not twisted, 1-nerved; stamens 6, with small uniform anthers; ovary 3-celled, with 2-4 ovules in each cell; style unidivided, with a somewhat dilated stigma.

Capsule 3-valved, with a few black seeds.

Distribution:  Endemic to Australia, with about 8 species described mainly from W.Aust.
