Common name: Noon-flower.
Description:
Small glabrous branching undershrub to c. 40 cm high; branches terete, grey; leaves fleshy, acutely trigonous, to c. 5 mm wide, densely green-spotted; perianth lobes ovate-oblong; petaloid staminodes bright-yellowish.
Flowers 4-5 cm diam., on peduncles 10-20 mm long; stamens short.
Capsule truncate, to c. 1 cm across.
