Lamarckia aurea

Synonymy: Cynosurus aureus L., Sp. Pl. 73 (1753).
Common name: Golden-top, comb grass.
Description:
Small glabrous annual, with flat leaf blades and long glabrous ligules.
Panicle unilateral, 3-4 cm long, compact, ovate-oblong, finally golden, the fertile spikelets hidden, except for their awns, by the numerous barren ones; glumes 3-4 mm long; lemma c. 2.5 mm long, pubescent near the tip, the awn c. 6 mm long, the upper stalked empty lemma with a much shorter awn.
