Description:
Annual herbs with watery sap; leaves a with more or less clearly defined petiole, bipinnatisect, glabrous.
Sepals 2, free, caducous; petals 4 in two whorls with different shapes; stamens 4; stigma with two slender lobes, not persistent in fruit, on a distinct style tapering into a slender ovary.
Fruit narrowly ellipsoid, with seeds partly embedded in the placenta.
