Hibiscus brachysiphonius

Description:
Low sometimes prostrate shrublet usually less than 30 cm high, scabrous with scattered stellate hairs; leaves green, the lower ones obovate, crenate, undivided; the upper ones 3-foliolate or more or less deeply cut into 3 obovate-cuneate usually crenate lobes, blades 15-35 mm long, on petioles 10-25 mm long.
Peduncles 4-14 cm long; epicalyx segments c. 10, free or shortly fused, linear, 5-7 mm long, sparsely hairy; calyx 12-15 mm long, the tube less than half as long as the lanceolate sparsely hairy lobes; petals pink, distally notched or lobed, 15-18 mm long; staminal tube short, with long filaments at the summit.
capsule globular, glabrous, 9-12 mm long; seeds villous.
