Description:
Perennial 15-40 cm high; corm c. 1 cm diam.; basal leaves 3 or 4, falcate to linear, erect, 5-14 cm long, 4-8 mm wide, glabrous, with few prominent veins.
Spike distichous, slightly flexuose, 4-8-flowered; flowers erect, stellate, opening late in the day; outer spathe bract broadly ovate, 8-12 mm long, green; inner bract narrower, 7-11 mm long, membranous; perianth tube 5-9 mm long; lobes elliptic, 10-15 mm long, white to cream, the outer ones reddish on the backs; anthers exserted, 4-5 mm long, cream; style branches 5-7 mm long, spreading horizontally betwen the stamens.

Known from one collection from Waterfall Gully (1908), but may occasionally be found as a garden escape.
