Description:
Shrub or tree to 5 m high; leaves densely tomentose below to subglabrous on both surfaces, dark-green above, paler below, thin, 3-10 cm long, on petioles 20-50 mm long.
Pedicels 1-3 mm long; calyx divided about half way, with triangular lobes, 2-4 mm long, glabrous or densely stellate-tomentose; petals 3-6 mm long, female shorter than male; styles exserted.
Fruit c. 7 mm across, exceeding the persistent calyx, hairy.

Distribution:

Black (1952) recorded that this species had been reported from "the Mount Gambier district". Although its occurrence in S.Aust. has not been confirmed, it is known to occur within 5km of the border in Vic.
