Common name: Stiff(or hairy)goodenia.

Description:
Perennial herb 5-20 cm high, with a compact rootstock; stems erect or ascending, terete, appressed-pubescent; basal leaves forming an ascending rosette, shortly petiolate, narrow-elliptic to oblanceolate or obovate, acute to subacute, 3-12 cm long, 2-10 mm wide, entire or pinnatisect to lyrately pinnatifid with few acute lobes, appressed-pubescent to strigose; cauline leaves narrowly elliptic, to 3.5 cm long, c. 4 mm wide, entire.

Flowers in terminal leafy racemes or subumbellate groups; bracts like cauline leaves; peduncles 1.5-6 cm long, appressed-pubescent, articulate immediately below the ovary; bracteoles absent; sepals lanceolate, 3-5 mm long, acute, pubescent, adnate to the ovary for about two-thirds of its length; corolla 14-16 mm long, yellow, appressed-pubescent outside, finely pubescent near the base inside, with an obscure pocket about one-third the length of the ovary; wings broad, subequal; auricles prominent; anthers c. 1.5 mm long; style 2:-4 mm long, straight, glabrous; indusium transversely oblong, c. 1.3 mm long, c. 2 mm wide, glabrous, with a shallowly curved orifice; bristles vestigial or absent; ovary strigose-pubescent; dissepiment to half the length of the ovary.

Capsule broadly obovoid to subglobular, 7-8 mm long, somewhat pubescent, with a glabrous beak; valves entire; seeds flat, elliptic, 5-6 mm long, pitted, brown, with a broad paler wing.
