Description:
Annuals with weak stems up to 60 cm long, scrambling; stems quadrangular, with short recurred hairs along the raised ridges, leaves and stipules equal, in whorls of 4 below but usually in whorls of 6-8 when flowering, oblanceolate, 10-50 mm long, acute to cuspidate, with usually densely placed recurved short hairs along the slightly recurved margin and the main vein on the undersurface, spreading to recurved later.

Inflorescences axillary, 2 per node and each usually with 3 flowers, with peduncles shorter than the subtending leaves; corolla white.

Fruit 3-5 mm long, with 2 broadly reniform to hemispherical mericarps, loosely attached to one another, each densely covered with acute tubercles; fruiting pedicels recurved.
